Did it. This one was a nice casual 3 hour hike one way. But with a heavy backpack on it seems a lot longer. We have a really awesome sleeping set up but there are a few modifications I would make for the next trip:
1. Reduce the weight of the first aid kit.
2. Leave the parka at home and bring an extra sweater and use the rain jacket and/or wind breaker houdini as a shell to save on bulk.
3. Re examine my essentials kit and get rid of redundancies (ie too many fire starters etc.)
4. Consider leaving the cooking stuff in the car and bring ready made food (I don't like this too much because I like hot food)
5. Look at "extra somethings" with a critical eye and rid them from my pack (ie extra socks, extra toque etc.)
If I can reduce bulk to a decent level and move down to a smaller size pack I will congratulate myself! :)

Working in a gear shop is awesome because I am learning about all this stuff, keeping things simple, light weight etc. I can hook you up if you ever need anything ;)
