Not edited to any meaningful extent but it expresses a few things that have been in my mind for a while.. If I had more time (or more 'give a shit') I would have polished the video.
Omg, love the rant! Some comments: Im not festive either! And I always thought that I was a freak for that! Mind you I like to celebrate my birthday cause it makes me feel good, and on occasion the solstices cause Im a bit of a hippy at heart. And I enjoy the odd wedding, cause why not celebrate love once in a while? No need to sign paper though, the party will do just fine :) Psycicism vs spirituality. I dont think that you can really group them into the same catagory. Suffering is said to be caused by being caught in 'ego consciousness' and humanity seems to be collectively identified with this egoic structure. But if being identified with this is the route of all suffering then that needs to be closely examined. So even though you say that you are not 'spiritual' anymore, I think that you can never stop being that because you are constantly questioning and digging for truth. Keep it coming my friend:)
Yes. The common thread of my life is my incessant search for truth, wherever it takes me. It's unfair to group psychicism in with other "Spiritualities", its true. They are quite different, but the reason I store them in a similar compartment in my mind is that they require a great deal of faith in order to implement them into your life. This is why I like reason and logic now - because it requires no faith, just good old fashioned thinking :)
It was a rant to be sure but I still feel reason and logic is the only realistic way to find truth... if reality is indeed as it appears in the material world.
The realm of the mind is so liquid and abstract and knowing how many times I have changed my spiritual view over the years I just can't rely on those abstract ideas to satiate my search for truth. Truth should be the goal. Truth is the only worthy goal to me, even if I have to drop all my comforts and past ideals. Just me though, everyone is on a similar path i think, most just eat up the bible and call it truth even though it has been debunked a thousand times over.
